AP Cotentin Sponsors the Next Wave of Sailors🌊!

When we say that Atlantique Packaging is a family story… 👨‍👦‍👨🌊

A few months ago, the sports association of Daniel Rigolet High School launched a crowdfunding campaign after losing a major sponsor. The goal? To allow 7 students to participate in the National Trophy of Maritime High Schools Sailing. Registration fees, boat rental, accommodation, and crew meals… Everything needed to be funded, otherwise their participation was at risk.

Fortunately, one of the students shared the campaign with his father, the workshop manager at our Normandy factory, AP Cotentin.

The rest is now part of history!

“After a second difficult day for the students, marked by unpredictable winds that tested their cohesion, the crew returned re-energized for the final day,” recounts Xavier, their physical education teacher, who accompanied and prepared them for the competition. The event’s goal – “to bring high school students together around a friendly challenge, in a calm atmosphere that respects the environment and their opponents,” as described by the host school – was achieved for our students, who sailed with solidarity and in a wonderful spirit of camaraderie.

For Atlantique Packaging, this adventure was a great opportunity to promote essential values such as camaraderie, teamwork, and to strengthen our ties with the local maritime sector. As a player in the packaging industry, we are particularly aware of the issues related to waste management, especially plastics, in our oceans. That’s why we firmly believe that by collaborating with local stakeholders and the young sailors of tomorrow, we can contribute to raising awareness and implementing good practices to protect our precious marine spaces.
